We are pleased to announce that 12Two Missions is once again an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation again! Wait… what?!?!?! If you missed our announcements over the last several years, no worries! We are sure many of our faithful supporters and followers will be some what confused by this statement. Worry not! Here’s all the gritty details on what we mean.
At the beginning of 2019, 12Two Missions was acquisitioned by World Servants. As a result of that acquisition, 12Two Missions was no longer an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit, but rather a sub-ministry or brand of World Servants. However, 12Two Missions still operated as if it were independent. This new partnership brought new opportunities and resources that 12Two greatly needed.
When the pandemic hit and subsequent lockdown of all travel, the two organizations were greatly affected since our primary source of revenue comes from hosting regular trips throughout the year. This drop in revenue caused the leaders of World Servants to have to furlough all staff and revise all programs and partnerships. In order for 12Two Missions to weather the COVID-19 storm, we thought it best to break away from World Servants. The leadership of World Servants agreed, and as of October 31, 2020 that partnership was dissolved and rights to 12Two Missions was handed back.
Since November 1, 2020, we have been hard at work getting 12Two Missions back in business and legal. We have re-formed as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, filed all paperwork with state and federal authorities, setup accounting, and touched base with our ministry partners. There is still a ton of work to do, but we are hopeful that the worst is behind us and we are looking ahead for God to do BIG things in 2021.
Over the next couple months, we will be electing a new board of directors. Those potential board members have been met with and are prayerfully considering their role in the vision and mission of this ministry. Please join in prayer for their decision!
In the near future, we will be launching quarterly fundraisers that will involve raffles, giveaways, and contests. Our hope is that doing quarterly fundraisers with prizes and awards will boost our financial stability, and allow 12Two Missions to grow. Be sure to subscribe to our mailing list and social channels to be in the know of when we roll out these great opportunities.
We are hoping to roll out a new program called “Ambassadors” that will define clear paths for individuals to get involved with the work of 12Two Missions. This program will have many levels of involvement from prayer partners to trip leaders. We’re hoping to have all the details lined out and ready for launch by early second quarter of this year.
We are also hoping to launch community partnership programs for all of our supporting churches. This program will allow churches to “adopt” one of our ministry partner communities, and commit to a multi-year plan to advance the kingdom work being done and leave a lasting mark of transformation in that area. As part of this program, we will be seeking God in starting local house churches in our partnering communities. The first being a church plant in 12Two Missions home town of Houston, TX.
This is just the tip of the iceberg for what we believe God is calling this ministry too! To be continued…
